We started with one ruined dinner

It was a July cookout, a long table, and a cloud of gnats that arrived with the dark and sent everyone indoors before dessert. We wanted that hour back. GOOTOP began there, with a lantern meant to hang at the edge of the evening and quietly take the flyers off the guest list.

What we keep in mind

• A lantern should look at home on a porch, not like a piece of industrial equipment.
• No sprays, no smoke, no residue on the grill or the plates.
• Parts that wear out should be parts you can replace, starting with the bulb.
• Every lantern should be ready to work the second it's plugged in.

The name on the lantern

Our slogan has been the same since the first box: Enjoy your time outdoors. Every design decision is measured against it. If a feature doesn't buy you more evening, it doesn't make the cut.

Today our family is small on purpose: the Zap T6 Pro for open yards, the JY-02 for tight spots, and the 15 W tube that keeps both of them glowing.
